Tony Lawlor SEHO Honoured by Irish Red Cross

At a mayoral reception on Monday night the 24th February last, our colleague Tony Lawlor, SEHO, was given a mayoral reception in Tipperary in recognition of his work with the Irish Red Cross.

John Shelley Bursary 2013

The EHAI were delighted to present the Excellence Awards and Student of the Year award award to three deserving and celebrated individuals. Micheál Martin T.D. accepted the Excellence Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Field of Environmental Health, Ray Parle, PEHO Clonmel accepted the Excellence Award (the Con Healy Medal) for the Environmental Health Professional of the year and Catherine Deeney accepted the award for Environmental Health Student of the Year.

The joint EHAI and CIEH Environmental Health Forum took place in the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk on the 4th July last and was officially opened by Dr. Patrick Wall, Professor of Public Health at University College Dublin and formerly Chief Executive of the FSAI.

Guidance on Management of Infectious Disease Published by HSE

The HSE Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) has published extensive guidance on the management of infectious intestinal diseases (IID) for use in Public Health and will be a useful resource for Environmental Health Officers.
