Mutual Recognition between DIT and CIEH

(10 Oct 2014)

The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and Environmental Health Association of Ireland have entered into an historic agreement to mutually recognise Environmental Health graduates from Ireland and the UK.   In order to consolidate this a Memorandum of Understanding was signed by James Curtin, Head of the School of Food Science and Environmental Health, DIT and Graham Jukes, Chief Executive of the CIEH.  The MOU will govern the relationship and future communications between the CIEH and DIT.

Graham Jukes called the signing 'historic', saying that he was personally very happy with the current position and that it boded very well for the future.  James Curtin also recognised the 'massive opportunity to develop going forward' and called the move a very positive step.  Positive feelings were also voiced by Caitriona Stack, Chair of the EHAI and Sarah Boyd of the School of Food Science and Environmental Health, DIT.
